  • the criteria for your comment getting pinned differs so much in every video that every comment is insane for like the first 2 minutes

  • should have done Trailer Park Boys

  • You know a lot about me as my favourite tv shows are the thumbnail Also I was dying at the card game

  • Big bang theory never made me laugh, decline for sitcoms started w friends

  • Seinfeld??it s peak sitcom, they will rewrite scenes on the spot if the audience didn t laugh.

  • i genuinely think parks and rec is one of the worst shows ive ever seen

  • "I'm disabled"

  • maclom in the middle doesnt have a laugh track what are you saying??

  • Okay, but Miracle in Lane 2 was a good movie... from what I remember having seen it 20 years ago.

  • big bang theory is the most overrated unfunny tv series i saw in a long time. i don't know why it's so popular, it feels like people are pretending to like it to look "smart" on a different note, you should watch Crazy ex-girlfriend and Community!

  • I usually agree with you, but Schitt’s Creek just gets better every episode. I had trouble getting into it, but I highly recommend it. You will get a lot more if that emotional investment you talked about.

  • i have to complain about the big bang theory he said laugh tracks but it is filmed infront of a live studio audience so the laughing is legit people laughing

  • malcolm in the middle gang rise

  • nerd

  • Big bang is my favourite but it's one of theses shows where you need to be somewhat similar to them to get the nerdy jokes

  • Someone once described Malcom In The Middle as a "Tongue-In-Cheek Situational Drama" and it has always felt appropriate

  • I find big bang to be funny, but I'm also not someone who watches TV a lot and so it fits. Parks and recreation is my favorite show of all time, so maybe I'm just not into great tv.

  • Schitts Creek is subjectively funny. I don’t find it funny, but all the adults above 30 I know who’ve watched it find it funny. It’s very subjective.

  • Schitt's Creek has such an amazing balance of humour and love. As it goes on their characters develop more and it gets more heart-warming but still remains hilarious. The good change in their characters throughout the 6 seasons makes it my favourite show in the world

  • Malcom in the Middle is so good

  • Oh man, i didn't remember Walter White was in Malcom in the Middle!

  • Greg is here?

  • Most laugh tracks were recorded in the 1950's, you are hearing dead people laugh

  • No. Schitts creek is the best show ever made

  • I don't like them. Just let me watch the show in peace!

  • That 70s show, Seinfeld, and How I met your mother are the only shows that have laugh tracks that don’t make you want to throw your ears to Canada and eat nail polish remover in my opinon. The Big Bang Theory, though, is just a different breed

    • @GregCubed oh at Seinfeld too I will add it

    • Seinfeld has the best use of laugh track imo, you never even notice it (plus it was actually filmed live, so the laughter is real and natural)

  • The It crowd is the only show with laugh tracks I didn't mind.

  • The best example of a story driven sitcom, with excellent character development and is still hillarious is "The Good Place."

  • drew i think you would love bojack horseman

  • that 70s show has a lot of laugh track and i hate it. i couldn’t watch it because of that

  • Drew is the only reason I tolerate math

  • Lmao so this is kinda dark but the reason I can’t watch shows with laugh tracks anymore is because I’m an emt and I can’t tell you the amount of DOAs I’ve gone to where the the person is laying there deceased with the tv on and for some reason it’s always a sitcom with the laugh tracks and you just walk in to this dead silent room with the body and you hear the laugh track in the background....it’s always so eerie

  • 4:25 Langauge

  • wait You came from VINE?

  • 6:16 HOW DARE YOU SAY THAT ABOUT SMASHMOUTH

  • Big bang is great Maybe little more laugh tracks But it is great

  • I want to hug you for including IT Crowd - its a bloody masterpiece :D Ayoade is a freaking genius in that one)

  • The saddest thing about Big Bang Theory is that even it had a more meaningful finale than Game of Thrones.

  • One show that is the best.... Nine nine

  • You look like Ben from Parks and Rec.

  • You should watch more British shows like The Office, The Inbetweeners, Friday Night Dinner, and my favourite TV show of all time, Taskmaster!

  • I just realized I’ve never heard Drew Gooden actually laugh

  • I watched Big Bang on a plane once when I was like 8 and realized that I didn’t like the show

  • my mom is literally obsessed with The Big Bang Theory, she watches all day over and over again without end.

  • The friends just give you good feeling.

  • i’m not tolerating this schitts creek slander. please give it another chance oh please oh please

  • Paul. Fucking. Rudd.

  • The same message can be said for action films.

  • The Good Place is a great show yall should give a shot.

  • I grew up watching MASH..I loved it.. Parks and Recks is brilliant...

  • In the future, laugh tracks alone will be the only media.

  • Oh boy i love the big bang theory so damn much.

  • This might be only me but you don't really mind the laugh track until you find a comedy show without a laugh track. It's like watching nick comedies with all these laugh tracks when you're younger, then watch a show like Parks and Rec without the laugh track. You just appreciate that the show isn't telling you to laugh at this moment.

  • you have to watch through the first series to the second, the second+ is why everyone stans it lol

  • i never enjoyed parks & rec for some reason, i gave up too quickly after the first two episodes. i'm gonna give it a try now, especially since the office is one of my favourite shows !!

  • I JUST GOT A INBOX AD YES

  • E

  • Not to mention how much creepy sexual assault is shrugged off by saying they're "nerds" (big bang theory)

    • When was there sexual assault in that show?

  • 13:30

  • Ahahahha DREEW😫 You're SO DAMN dedicated I can't😂🤚❤😏

  • Brooklyn 99 is a good sitcom because it doesn't have a laugh track and preaches equality

  • sitcoms do not need verbal jokes all the time to laugh at

  • The opening ep of season 2 of the IT crowd is literally one of the best episodes of anything ever!!! I never get sick of it

  • Honestly, I really like TBBT. It has its faults, I'm not denying it. But it has a lot of great moments too. All the characters are inherently flawed in some way or the other, it doesn't try to force the audience to love them. I feel it gets a lot of hate just because it's mainstream and cliche, so it's cool to hate on it. But really, cliches are cliches because you do see it reflected in real life Just my honest opinion

  • Nickelodeon and Disney channel: I’m gonna pretend I didn’t see that

  • Everything he said about Parks and Rec is true about Schitt’s Creek. Watch the wedding episode

  • 9:53-10:05

  • Im British and I absolutely cannot stand the IT crowd and people told me to give it a chance so I watched ever episode and hated it even more after.

  • I look forward to the day when laugh tracks are a thing of the past. When I was growing up every sitcom had one and it was just the norm, I couldn’t imagine a sitcom that wasn’t filmed in front of a live audience that laughed on command. And then the simpsons happened. The simpsons proved to my kid self that I didn’t need a laugh track to tell me when to laugh. I found joy in finding the laughter from the absurd things that happened in Springfield especially watching reruns as a teen when I could understand jokes that went over my head as a kid. That was the moment I began to despise the laugh track. If a joke on a tv show is funny people will laugh, they don’t need an intrusive laugh track to tell them when to laugh, that is the most important thing the simpsons taught me.

  • Why wasn’t the Simpsons or The Good Place here?

    • Did you just make 5 alt accounts to like your comment?

  • I must be weird but I really do enjoy the laugh tracks in sitcoms. It just tells me when to laugh (when it is inserted at a reasonable place, unlike tbbt) and brings up my mood. When I hear a joke I didn't understand before, after hearing the laugh track, I would think about the joke and maybe laugh at it if I end up getting it. That is, of course, in the scenario when the laugh track doesn't sound forced and sounds like people are genuinely laughing. Apparently when humans hear laughter, we end up being happier (I heard that from a friend but I'm not sure if that's true), and I guess it matches with the purpose of sitcoms.

  • boy who cried laugh. boy . who cried laugh

  • Noticing the laughing track kills a series

  • How I Met Your Mother having the fewest makes sense to me. A lot of the time it feels more of something like maybe a drama or film than a comedy, if that makes sense.

  • Parks and Rec wasn't just in the Office's shadow, Amy Poehler was in Tina Fey's

  • I hate Big Bang theory sooo much, its so hard to watch grown men who live on their own behave so much like children.

  • i love schitts creek. i felt empty when i finished it

  • shits creek and modern family that is all

  • I mean i actually really like young Sheldon but i also think laugh tracks can be fine - like two and a half men amazing show that managed fo do the exact same thing every episode and was still great (mostly charlie of course) but i dont think modern shows should use laugh tracks its to retro

  • Please do Nickelodeon vs Disney! The laugh tracks are INSANE! The episodes are mostly laugh tracks especially Sam and Cat!

  • Laugh tracks never really bothered me. I laugh when I get the joke, or don't

  • Ugh, Parks and Rec is do good-

  • dawg i would hate parks and rec if they added that laugh track lmaooo

  • I still think about this video sometimes.

  • I feel like something needs to be said about canned laughter vs audience laughter. But I don't know what.

  • I love Young Sheldon, it’s such a good show

  • Malcom in the middle? More like breaking bad am I right or what. Thank you I'll be here all week

  • Would have love to see Nathan for You :)

  • Drew what’s your favorite track on in rainbows?

  • It’s all about timing, the office times their jokes with character reactions and cutaways to private confessionals. Sitcoms just use canned laughs. That being said, The office is a way better show than any sitcom ever.

  • Brooklyn 99, schitts creek and parks and rec are the most underrated shows.

    • these shows are loved by millions and have won rewards tho…

  • "Sometimes you just wanna laugh at something dumb. Sometimes you don't wanna watch a show with emotional depth 'cause it's like, I got my own shit going on' and now I gotta care about these fictional characters too". Totally relatable.

  • I watched The BB Theory once, I hated it. So I was really surprised when I watched Young Sheldon and it was so good.

  • Do they get different people to record laugh tracks or do they just use ones from the 40s, 50s, 60s? If they do not change then are we not just listening to dead people laugh? That is a little creepy

    • Yes. We are in fact listening to dead people laugh a lot of the times :)

  • If there literally has to be a signal for your audience to find a joke funny, then the joke isn’t funny...

  • the funniest thing was at the start😉

  • hey guys im just going to point this out but most laugh tracks are from the 30's *I love hearing dead people laugh* I saw the fact on a comment shown on a r/TIHI vid so credit to that guy

  • Almost all of the funniest shows had either, 1) Live studio audiences who could laugh in real time, and occasionally the audience would loose their mind laughing and you'd hear giggles in the crowd. 2) No laugh track at all because it's about the actor's delivery.
